Today’s blog post is different than most….I’d like to bring your attention to The Architect’s Newspaper.
I discovered this industry gem during a recent networking pow-wow, thanks to industry colleagues Justin G. Roy, AEC social media guru and Co-Founder of TweetNetworking; Christopher Parsons, founder of Knowledge Architecture; and Daniel Emmerson, Founder of Axomic.
So far, I’m enjoying—and learning from—the content in this newspaper, which is organized by East, West, and the newly added (apparently prior to their intended 2010 launch) Midwest U.S. industry news.
I’ve included their about language so that you, too, can read it and get involved. Just make sure that the additional reading does not stop you from enjoying this twice-weekly Scarlett Letter!
About Us
The Architect’s Newspaper serves up news and inside reports to a niche community of architects, designers, engineers, landscape architects, lighting designers, interior designers, academics, developers, contractors, and other parties interested in the built urban environment. The Architect’s Newspaper delivers quality news and cultural reporting through print, web, blog, newsletter, or twitter—all the news you want, in all the ways you want to get it.
Readers tell us constantly that The Architect’s Newspaper is “essential,” “relevant,” “timely,” and “the only thing I read.” They want a source that understands their interests and practices—and gives them what they need to know in brief and with a point of view. No rah-rah. Just useful information and insightful, readable criticism. Diverse voices. Open dialogue.
Combining timeliness with authority, The Architect’s Newspaper is the most comprehensive source of information on the latest projects and commissions, unfolding politics and debate, and cultural developments related to architecture, with an emphasis on the Northeast and West Coast regions (and a Midwest Edition launching in 2010). The latest news is rounded out by a mix of topical essays, opinionated columns, project analyses, firm profiles, interviews, new products, reviews of exhibitions and books, plus a complete calendar of important events and competitions. We also have a deeply in-the-know gossip column.
